Catering partner 1711 by Ascot provides 5k+ meals of surplus food to City Harvest
2.11 tonnes EQUALS 5,026 meals for charities feeding their communities.

Since 2017, 1711 by Ascot and City Harvest have ensured no good food is wasted, diverting surplus catered food from Ascot events to 375+ charity recipients feeding their communities across Greater London. This year’s provision of quality, gourmet food was enough for over 5,000 meals for people unable to access or afford food.

Ascot ‘Afternoon Tea’ delighted City Harvest’s charity partners. Well-packaged and labelled catered food is a godsend for City Harvest’s grassroots charity partners with limited cooking facilities. It’s also much-needed for low-income families who can’t afford to cook fresh ingredients, or London’s homeless.
Raspberry tarts made a welcome treat for our recipients! These were for impromptu parties put on by our community centre or kid’s club partners. Fresh pastry products don’t leave the cool chain when handled by City Harvest. This means they can be redistributed quickly and safely to charities feeding their communities via our logistical network.

In addition to over 2,000 kilograms of catered food donations, City Harvest’s logo featured on the event’s board menus and the Pavillion’s a la carte menu to demonstrate Royal Ascot’s support.
